Between 1955 and 1965, Ramón Masats traveled around Spain documenting patriotic themes for Gaceta Ilustrada, at a time when the Franco regime was beginning to open up to the outside world. Masats` work, with a precise and powerful photographic style, today offers a unique visual testimony of Spain in those years. Born in Caldes de Montbui in 1931, Masats is considered an innovator of Spanish documentary photography.
